Important Notes

Indians get an entry permit on arrival — no advance visa needed. Produce passport OR Voter Identity Card (original only — no other documents accepted) at the port of entry.

SDF for Indians: Nu 1,200 BTN per person per night (SAARC rate, valid until August 31, 2027). Much lower than the $100 USD/night charged to international tourists. Apply online or pay at border.

No tour operator required for Indian nationals — travel independently.

Voter ID accepted at Phuentsholing land border — easiest entry point from West Bengal.

Tiger's Nest (Taktsang) monastery is the must-do — allow a full day for the trek.
