All Indian citizens, residents, and legal residents of Afghanistan/Sri Lanka must apply for Schengen visa before entering Finland

Applicants must visit Visa Application Centre in person (including children of all ages) with appointment booking required

VAC locations in India: New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai

For stays in multiple Schengen countries, apply to Embassy/Consulate of country with longest stay; if equal stay, apply to first port of entry country

Short-stay visas only (max 90 days within 180-day period)

Applications cannot be submitted earlier than 6 months before planned journey (9 months for seafarers)

Processing time: up to 15 working days for individuals, up to 20 days for groups 15+, up to 30 days in certain cases or high season. Does not include weekends or public holidays.

Embassy may request additional documentation or call for interview, which may extend processing time

Visa fees in INR depend on current exchange rate and can change without notification

Payment methods: Card, UPI, or cash at VAC on appointment day

Certain categories exempt from visa fee (family of Finnish citizen, diplomatic/official passport holders, students/researchers/non-profit representatives – case-by-case evaluation)

Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable

Finland represented by Sweden in Bangladesh (apply at Embassy of Sweden, Dhaka) and by Netherlands in Pakistan (apply at Dutch Embassy, Islamabad)
