Processing time is 15 calendar days

Applications must be lodged no later than 15 calendar days before the start of intended visit and no more than 6 months before

Original documents must be presented during personal interview with visa officer

Consulate reserves the right to request further documentation

Reasonable doubt about actual itinerary and time spent in Schengen countries will lead to visa refusal

Airlines may offload passengers with Schengen visas who provided misleading information; offload leads to visa revocation

Visa does not confer automatic right of entry; applicant may be requested to present supporting documents at border

Applicant is responsible for accuracy and completeness of application

During assessment, Consulate will not answer enquiries regarding state or outcome of procedure

Grant or refusal of visa is at sole discretion of Consulate General of Hungary; VFS Global has no role in decision making

Applicants with previous Schengen visas must ensure biometrics are still valid (taken less than 59 months before submission); invalid or substandard biometrics require appearance at Consulate in Mumbai for fresh biometrics, extending processing time

Consulate may demand proof of payment for booked accommodation in Hungary at time of processing as condition of issuing visa

Applicant acknowledges incomplete or inadequate application will be sole basis for decision and may be refused without further verification or interview
